Authenticity matters in admissions essays
You probably already know that writing is often required when students apply to college, including for over half of our colleges. What is less well known is that the substance of the piece — your student’s reflection and authenticity — matters far more than how well it might be written. That’s not to say that students shouldn’t take care to polish their essay or personal statement, but it can help the college understand what motivates the student, beyond test scores and lists of activities.
