Tone Blechert, Associate Dean of Healthcare Professions, College of St. Catherine

Blechert is responsible for student, faculty and program development and evaluation. She also works closely with the academic advising team and the learning center on the Minneapolis campus and serves on the all college enrollment management matrix and internal review board.

She joined St. Kate's in 1971 as a faculty member in occupational therapy and was named associate dean in 1999. She has played a leadership role in faculty / campus relations after the acquisition of St. Mary's Junior College by the College of St. Catherine in 1986.

Richard Benson, Kinesiology & Health Science Department, Concordia University

Benson contributes to the development of appropriate and assessable forms of instruction in the areas of health and physical education, particularly related to combating childhood obesity through various primary prevention methods at every level of education, including early childhood.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, Benson has served since 2005 as president of the Minnesota Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD) which advocates for more rigorous standards for K-12 health and physical education curriculum.  He holds a B.A. in Physical Education, an M.A. in Education, and is pursuing his Doctor of Education in Teacher Leadership.
