Note: The first annual tour in 2007 was a success. More than 700 freshman, sophomores and juniors from Minneapolis, St. Paul and Robbinsdale/Cooper high schools attended information sessions with alumni of color, admissions and multicultural affairs representatives from the 17 distinct and diverse member schools of the Minnesota Private College Council. Plans are in progress for a repeat performance in early 2008. Check back for more information.
What:
Ethnic graduates from some of Minnesota’s distinct and diverse private colleges will tour area high schools this April.
Why:
Sharing their own life stories, they’ll encourage high school students to take steps now to go on to college — and to consider a Minnesota private college or university. [Our colleges have the highest graduation rate in the state for ethnic students. We award nearly one-quarter of the bachelor’s degrees earned by Minnesota’s ethnic college students.]
