An exciting venture is on the horizon for Bethany. A new, nationally-sanctioned collegiate eSports team is being added to the campus in the fall of 2019. Sanctioned eSports is offered at some 600 colleges and universities across the nation as a club activity. Bethany is taking its program to a “higher level” by joining the National Association of Collegiate eSports (NACE) as a varsity program.
A new face is joining Bethany’s Advancement Department on April 8, 2019. That “new face” will be a familiar one to many Bethany alumni and friends.
Bruce Gratz is a 1984 Bethany alumnus, and most recently he’s served on the College’s controlling board, the Board of Regents. He’ll be working with a variety of supporters of the College identifying and developing relationships with alumni and friends of Bethany.
The Sigurd Lee Theater on the Bethany Lutheran College campus will be the site of a world premiere play on Friday, April 5, 2019. The production, Letters to Anne of Green Gables was co-written by alumna Lydia Lonnquist (’18) in fulfillment of her senior thesis for a theater major. Lonnquist, who also majored in English, collaborated with Benji Inniger ('06) – Associate Professor of Theatre at Bethany to write the new adaptation.
