The awards are intended to launch the academic careers of promising new first-generation college students from families with incomes under $50,000 annually. The scholarships are a resource for recruiting low- and modest-income students whose families might not otherwise be able to choose a private college.
Eligibility criteria
- Demonstrate financial need, income under $50,000 annually
- U.S. citizen
- First generation (neither parent completed college)
- History of and continuing involvement in school and/or community activities
- Freshman or sophomore
- Minimum grade point average of 2.5
Students are expected to submit a report demonstrating continuing involvement in campus and/or community activities.
