There are two words that describe Jacob Eggers best: caregiver and athlete. When searching for a college, Minneapolis-native Eggers knew he wanted to attend a small school and a good cross country team and a strong nursing program. “St. Olaf fit my wish list, but it was really the financial aid and scholarships that made it possible for me to go to an awesome school.” Eggers is a recipient of the Minnesota Scholars Fund Scholarship.
Now a senior and a nursing major, Eggers is finishing his last year strong. He is completing a clinical rotation at the Veterans Center in Northfield, and also goes to clinicals in Minneapolis twice a week. “In high school, my cross country coach was a nurse and she truly inspired me to go into the field of caregiving.” Graduating as an RN, Eggers hopes to work in a hospital after graduation.
“One of my favorite parts about going to school at St. Olaf is the town. I really appreciate Northfield, the small town vibe and it’s a great community. There’s a lot to do and it’s a great place to run.” While the rigors of nursing take much of his time, along with being on the cross country team Eggers is also a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB).
