Foster care grants for Minnesotans covers tuition and living expenses
The new state Fostering Independence Grant is available to students under the age of 27 who were in the Minnesota foster care system at any point after the age of 13. The grant can be used to cover tuition, fees, books, housing, and transportation.

Council and Fund board changes
This summer, the Minnesota Private College Council and Minnesota Private College Fund welcome two new presidents to the board — Brian Bruess at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University and Rob Vischer (interim) at the University of St. Thomas — along with three new community members: Paul Anderson of The Anderson Group, Alison Rempel Brown of the Science Museum of Minnesota and Christopher Dolan of Faeger Drinker.

New cohort of Phillips Scholars selected
Ten Minnesota private college students have been selected to develop and conduct community service projects that address the achievement gap in Minnesota. The scholars will complete their projects in summer 2023.

New cohort selected for Black Men's Success Initiative program
Nineteen Black men have been identified as new Eddie Phillips Scholars, a program that combine funds for students to use to cover tuition costs in their junior and senior years with a set of leadership and personal development opportunities.
