Women accounted for 60 percent of the bachelor’s degrees earned at our 17 member institutions. That’s compared to 53 percent at the University of Minnesota and 60 percent at Minnesota State universities.
Our institutions awarded women a higher share of bachelor’s degrees than men in several key areas:
- 86 percent in health professions
- 76 percent in education
- 72 percent in legal professions and studies
- 65 percent in biological and biomedical sciences
Women also earned 50 percent of bachelor’s degrees in STEM disciplines at our institutions compared to 40 percent at the University of Minnesota and 34 percent at Minnesota State universities.
