In addition, a bachelor’s degree results in $800,000 more in median lifetime earnings than an associate degree.
In Minnesota, the earnings difference between those with a bachelor's degree and a high school diploma is $1.1 million — $2.8 million for bachelor’s degrees and $1.7 million for high school diplomas. For bachelor's and associate degrees, a bachelor’s degree generates $600,000 more in lifetime earnings.
