The Minnesota State Grant is awarded to low- and middle-income Minnesota students who attend college in Minnesota. Nearly 70,000 students — pursuing associate degrees, certificates or bachelor’s degrees — received State Grants last academic year. They represents 39 percent of Minnesota resident undergrads attending college in the state. State Grant recipients attend both public and private nonprofit institutions and are enrolled both full- and part-time. What's more, 54 percent of Minnesota students of color and Native American students receive a State Grant.
