In the 2018‐19 academic year, 32,453 individuals in Minnesota earned bachelor’s degrees. Of those, our 17 colleges and universities awarded 9,470. That’s 29 percent of all bachelor’s degrees in the state, compared to 33 percent at both Minnesota State universities and the University of Minnesota.
Our institutions awarded a higher share of bachelor’s degrees in several key areas:
- 46 percent in physical sciences (chemistry, physics, geology and astronomy)
- 39 percent in social sciences
- 38 percent in foreign languages
- 34 percent in health professions
- 33 percent in business
