March 2024

Over a thousand degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields were earned by women at our member institutions during the 2021-22 academic year. That’s nearly a third of the total number of bachelor’s degrees earned in STEM fields by women in Minnesota during that academic year.

Women at our colleges and universities earn half of all the STEM degrees our institutions award. In comparison, a greater share of bachelor’s degrees in STEM disciplines is being awarded to women at our colleges and universities than at the state’s public systems.
